How to Get through Finals Week

It's that time of year again; you get barely any sleep, your social life consists of the occasional "Hey, what's up?" in the library, and you feel like you are being buried alive at times. Yes, I am talking about the dreaded finals week that is coming up. If only Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide gave us tips on how to make it out of finals week alive (am I right?) My tips on how to ace your finals with as little stress as possible consists of the following: exercise regularly, get to sleep before 11 each night, give yourself a little "me time" once in a while, and, above all, don't beat yourself up if you don't get the grade you were shooting for, it isn't the end of the world. With that being said, good luck!

  1. This is really good advice. I agree, finals week can be very stressful if you don't stop and, in our case, smell the freezing snow once in a while. This is a time where it's easy to feel like you just lost all control. It is also a time where it feels like no one understands but but you have given us tips to mike it through finals. So screw Ned we have Ian's Declassified College Survival guide.

  2. Agreed. Finals week my freshman year vs my sophomore year were completely different. My freshman year, I would drink red bull, stay up all night, cramming my head with information and go take a test. Sophomore year, I started studying earlier, learned the content little by little instead of jamming it all in within a few hours, took some time away from class, worked out regularly like you stated, and I did a lot better that year than my first year. I think people need to realize there isn't any benefit for pulling an all nighter, at least for most of us. You are just exhausted taking the test and your brain doesn't function like it should. Get your rest, don't stress out too much, and study for about an hour and take a break then get back into studying, rather thanks study for six hours straight.
